Prior Learning

ibp academy offers a Recognition and Accreditation or Prior Learning service to students who have a combination of experience, learning and previous qualifications in leadership and management. This enables them to gain credit for their achievements and to access to, or even achieve, higher level qualifications. This opens up qualifications and progression routes to people who have gained a great deal through experience and training but whose qualifications have not necessarily kept pace with their personal development

 

The Accreditation

Recognition and Accreditation of Prior Learning (R/APL) is available at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with links into Foundation, Bachelors and Masters Degrees. Students can claim R/APL through one or more of three routes – transfer of credit from courses that are accredited within the English Qualifications and Credit Framework; recognition of credit from other frameworks; and accreditation of workbased learning, un-assessed learning and experience

 

The Process

Candidates complete a detailed application form, which covers a full range of leadership and management outcomes linked to credit rated units. This is scrutinised by an assessor, who completes a series of professional interviews with the candidate. The outcomes of these interviews determine actions required and work to be completed to attain the desired results.
