ibp academy is now accredited to offer the ILM Foundation Degree in Leadership & Management in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire.

This innovative new collaboration offers learners and employers an easy and accessible way to gain a professional ILM award as well as a recognised academic Foundation Degree award.

The Institute of Leadership & Management’s (ILM) Level 4 and Level 5 extended diplomas aim to develop a wide range of leadership and middle management skills. They enable learners to have significant impact on their organisation’s performance. They cover fundamental and essential management and knowledge skills such as being able to assess and improve your performance as a leader, and lead organisational innovation and change.

The programme is designed to for individuals who wish to study flexibly, either full-time with work-based learning through projects or part-time for those who are currently working and with to study part-time. You could come from any industry background, but you will need either the appropriate academic background or some relevant work experience.

The Level 4 and Level 5 diplomas, which can be delivered on a part-time basis, are each made up of six mandatory units, with an additional seven mandatory units (so you study minimum total of 26 units). On Successful completion of these awards you receive the University of Hertfordshire’s Foundation Degree in Leadership and Management - a higher education qualification that is recognised and valued by employers. Once achieved it allows you to progress on to the final year of the BA Honours Degree in Business Adminstration at the UH, or level 6 qualifications of the ILM.

The teaching occurs at a variety of ibp academy partner study centres across the UK approved by ILM to deliver Level 4 and 5 qualifications. Delivery is full or part-time dependent upon the needs of the student. No teaching is conducted at the University of Hertfordshire, however you will be a student of the University with all the associated benefits, including:-

• Remote access to our intranet providing programme specific information and support
• 24/7 access to our award-winning learning resources centre, giving you access to online text books, journals and databases
• Access online tutorials and study skills support
• Contact with a programme leader for additional support

Employers, like learners, have much to gain from this new dual award. Staff completing these part-time qualifications will develop key management skills and bring tangible benefits to the workplace through the assessed components of each unit, while also gaining an easy route into higher education. Additionally, access to public funding e.g.: Train to Gain may also provide a boost to employers for this type of development.
