Our team is our biggest strength. 90% of our people have been with us for five years or more. All are fully committed to ibp academy's values and providing the best service we can to our clients and students.

Our management team are:

John Parker
Director

John co-founded ibp academy with Janet Parker in 1996, having worked in a variety of people development roles since graduating from university in 1983. He has been instrumental in leading ibp academy to the forefront of impact based leadership and management education. 

He has worked with the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) and other partners, including Edinburgh Napier University Business School to develop innovative, work place based routes to qualifications, linking academic and vocational education.

John is a Visiting Professor at Edinburgh Napier Business School, a member of ILM's National Advisory Committee, a Fellow of  ILM and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). He is youth convenor at his local rugby club, a qualified coach and referee and an officer in the Boys' Brigade. 

Janet Parker
Director

Janet co-founded ibp academy with John Parker in 1996, having previously run businesses in both the training and finance sectors. Since establishing the company she has project managed a number of a high volume national training contracts for major clients.

Her team has a strong track record in managing and supporting people through their individual learning processes. This is something which is repeatedly cited by students as being critical to the achievement of their learning goals.

Janet is also a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management. She is a keen photographer, chairperson of her local youth theatre and involved in several other community initiatives.

Brenda Emslie
Manager

Brenda has a long association with the directors of ibp academy. Her experience in learning and development spans over 21 years. As a result, she excels in tutoring, mentoring, coaching and encouraging people to realise their true potential.

She is qualified in learning and development, strategic & operational management and Business & Enterprise. Brenda has applied her knowledge to the design and authoring of various online programmes, as well as tutoring and assessment in a diverse range of subjects. She is also a highly experienced project manager.

Brenda enjoys sun, sand, sea and a good book !

Michael McGuire
Manager

Michael joined the ibp academy team in 2001 from a leisure services background. Since then he has been instrumental in developing and implementing the learner management systems that underpin all ibp programme delivery.

Michael has worked on the development of many new customised ILM qualifications. He is the company's ILM Centre Co-ordinator and heads up the quality assurance function, having been instrumental in the achievement of ISO9001:2008 in 2008.

Michael is a member of ILM. Outside work he is a civilian instructor for the Air Training Corps and treasurer of a local charity organisation.
